A Country Hick Teaching Vocabulary?

Tomorrow I begin my first day of tutoring. On Saturday, I got a job tutoring two boys ages 7 and 9 in the areas of Math, Reading, and Writing. The eldest of the two is ADHD and after meeting him, I realize that I am going to have my hands full-- and not necessarily because of the disorder. It's more like because of his family's disorder! Boy was it chaotic! I pray that God would use me to help these two boys overcome some of their educational obstacles and allow me to be a blessing on this family-- and that I remember all of the mathematical vocabulary! I am so thankful for this small job, both as a way to earn a little extra income and something to keep Elon and I occupied during the long hours Nathan is away.

If you think about it, pray that my first day goes smoothly-- and that I remember to speak properly! Or else I might end up teaching Language Arts a little something like this...

TAR - noun. A rubber wheel.
Usage: "Gee, I hope that brother of mine from Jawjuh don't git a flat tar in my pickup truck."

RETARD - Verb. To stop working.
Usage: "My grampaw retard at age 65."

FAT - noun, verb. 1. a battle or combat. 2. to engage in battle or combat.
Usage: "You younguns keep fat'n, n' ah'm gonna whup y'uh."

Ast- verb. To interrogate or inquire.
Usage: "Don't ast me so many questions. It makes me mad."

Attair- demonstrative pronoun. Contraction used to indicate the specific item desire.
Usage: "Pass me attair gravy, please."

Bleeve- verb. Expression of intent or faith.
Usage: "Ah bleeve we ought to go to church this Sunday."

If you catch me on a return trip from home, you just might hear me quoting some of the above!
