Is This Normal?

Ok, I am only 7 weeks pregnant and already outgrowing many of my pants! How can that be? I now have the gut I had when I was 4 months pregnant with Elon. I am getting nervous because I am quickly outgrowing my pants but still not big enough for maternity-- maternity clothing at 7 weeks!!! And I am not eating lavishly-- I only eat when I am hungry, which is practically--ahem-- all the time... But really, is this normal for a second or third pregnancy?

Most of you know that I am naturally a small person. And believe me, I am not freaking about gaining weight due to this pregnancy-- the above cartoon is only a joke! I've just noticed that my belly is growing at an !alarming rate! and I'm curious as to whether this is common. I don't mind the weight gain-- really. Maybe none of my friends can see it, but since they can't see the--ahem-- full picture, they don't see the pot belly-- but I certainly do!

I haven't experienced this yet myself, but several of my friends have mentioned this happening to them... I'd say you're perfectly fine and normal! And, I bet the "pot belly" doesn't look as bad as you think! I'm sure you look great, as always... not that any of us would know, as you haven't posted any preggo pics. ;o)

P.S. I'm glad things are going a little better for you with the pregnancy. You can be assured of many prayers (from bloggy friends all over the world) on your behalf!

I popped almost immediately with all 3 babies (except the one I lost- that was almost immediate conception/miscarriage), and I say your perfectly normal. I have heard quite often that you show earlier the more pregnancies you have.
An FYI for you- most of my maternity clothes didn't fit the second and third time around. A bummer, when you don't feel like shopping for new ones.

Is it normal? Oh, my, YES! Thankfully that "growth rate" did not did not continue and by the time I was 6 months along ... my belly resembled my first pregnancy at the same time. My maternity clothing looked silly on me, but I had no choice. My poor husband made the mistake of saying, "Oh, you just want to wear your maternity clothes." ... my response to him was to burst into tears and refuse to go to the evening servie because I had nothing to wear. Truly! My skirt from the AM service was just not comfortable. I forgave him :-)

We've been married 34 years and our 3 boys are all married as well and now two granddaughters to delight us.
