Ever have your lettuce wilt in just a couple of days? Before you toss it, try this tip to save a few cents! Soak the leaves in ice cold water for a couple of hours and watch them "spring" back to life! This works for lots of different greens {although I haven't had luck with iceburg}. This works for me all the time. Another step that helps is to trim the "rusty" butt end before soaking- it's kind of like trimming the ends of cut flowers, it lets the water soak up into the leaves.
Great post!

Judith, I know, I was hesitant to post the pictures cause it still looks wilted. In reality, the shredded lettuce was perfect-- it's my photo taking skills that need help. Just try it!
