Mother's Day Celebration

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day! Here are some pix of ours:

Elon evidently loves lemon.

The guys at Chili's.

The girls at Chili's. (By the way, have you tried their chicken fajita pita and the lettuce wraps? Yummy!)

Elon's afraid of carnations!scared of carnations

"Awww mom, leave my hair alone!"

This was my first Mother's Day (for myself) so I was pretty excited. Nathan spent all night the night before painting and installing the rods that go to the canopy on my bed. Then he bought and hung a new mosquito net around the canopy. Although I wouldn't have chosen to put up a mosquito net (it doesn't match my room decor), I do appreciate the sweet effort so I will be leaving it up for now.

After church on Sunday, we went to dinner at Chili's and then on to Barnes and Noble for a Carmel Frappucino for me and a new book about the life and times of Jane Austen. I love those frappucinos but they are reserved only for a rare treat (too expensive and too fattening!)

For Mother's Day, I gave my mother-in-law a very raggedy D.E. Stevenson book (she loves that author and they're kind of hard to find around here), a vintage bottle of triple rose water, and a Ralph Lauren purse I found on sale at Kohl's. She loved all three! My mom wanted money to invest in landscaping her yard. (Since she lives in NC this is an easy option for me). What'd you give your mom?

I gave my mom the news that she's going to get another grandchild come January, Lord willing!!! I wrapped up a baby bottle with my pregnancy test inside and let her open that. When she figured out what it was and what it meant, she cried--and I cried. It was, in her words, a "wonderful gift!" :)

Ladies,
Please pray for Davene's pregnancy. She has already had one miscarriage and we want everything to go perfect for this one. Remember, "Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galations 6:2
