A New Series

I can only take so much of Grace Livingston Hill. I really do like her books but it has to be one of those days whenever I am just in the mood for some very light fiction. Sometimes the "she was beautiful and gentle; she didn't color her cheeks or paint her lips like those wordly girls..." starts to wear on my nerves. Can anyone suggest a really good Christian author? I like all types of fiction, mystery, romance, comedic... or best of all, a mixture of the three. Currently, I am reading Lone Point by GLH and On The Banks Of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder (I love historic fiction). It 'd be wonderful to find a new series to devour and help take my mind of the house!

The Glennbrook series by Robin Jones Gunn- love 'em, or the Harmony series by Phillip Guilley(sp?)
I feel the same way about GLH, it does wear after awhile.
Still praying about the house for you!

Hi! I've been reading your blog for a while now, but haven't commented yet. I am praying about the house for you...I know how hard it is to wait to hear about things like that!
As far as books...I really enjoy T.Davis Bunn. He is a Christian author that combines action, romance and some comedy. He is my favorite author!

Francine Rivers is an excellent author. She wrote the 'A Lineage of Grace' series about the 5 women leading up to Jesus' birth (Tamar, Raheb, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary). That was sooo good! She took their lives as we know from the bible, and wrote stories that made them come alive and help you understand about how things were back then. She also wrote other books like "The last sin eater" which is apparently great, but I have only read the Lineage of Grace series.
