Would A Rose By Any Other Name Smell As Sweet?

Asher is such a sweet baby, he definitely lives up to his name! He is so quiet, rarely crying and he smiles at me and coos whenever I talk to him. It's so unusual to me, that his eyes smile too. He still awakens frequently, even though I am trying to do the Baby Wise method, but that's ok, it won't last forever (although I admit that sometimes it feels like it)! I am so thankful that Asher is an "easy" baby! I am a big believer in the importance of a name and I prayed over both of our children's names before deciding upon the "right" one. It amazes me how God led us to the name that fits them best.

"Elon"-- Oak tree, strong tree
"Asher"-- Fortunate, blessed, happy

And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.

Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.

And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.

On a side note:
Hopefully, by tomorrow night my computer will be up and running! I panicked when I saw that I had acquired a virus and all my pics of Elon were stored on that computer. Lesson learned-- back up your photos or print them!

Oh I hope you didn't lose any pictures!
I too, believe in the meaning of names- I had trouble with the fact that Rachel meant "Ewe" (female sheep) until my MIL pointed out that it can also be a lamb, and since we want her to be one of Gods little lambs, I was much happier, than saying "Here is my daughter, sheep-girl."
I also think you can do damage by naming your children certain things, case in point: growing up I knew sisters Rachel and Leah. Nothing wrong with either of those names, in fact Leah is a favorite girls name of mine, BUT- Rachel was the one everyone loved, and Leah was somewhat forgotten and left out. When I was working, we had a patient whose name was (really, I couldn't make this up!): Morticia.
Yeah, as in Adams, and guess what, she was "dark" and kinda scary.
Looking forward to more posts!

I hope your comp will be up and working normally again soon!

We are very big on the importance of meanings behind names, as well, and I love the names/meanings you've chosen for your boys :o)
