Rewards a.k.a. Bribery...

Just kidding about the title of course ;)

I realize that I haven't posted in a while, but I just had to get on blogger for a few minutes today to share this wonderful freebie!

This past weekend, we took a road trip to "Begas" as Elon calls it, to visit family and for Nathan to attend the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Convention.  We stayed with Great Grandma Ginny in her beautiful new home and also got to visit and have a delicious Mexican dinner with Nathan's uncle (thanks Dave!)  Anyhow, I had been promising the kids for weeks that we were going to see the pirates at Treasure Island.  I had no clue that the Sirens and Pirates show is completely inappropriate for children (or adults for that matter!)  until we got to Treasure Island and began to watch the previews.  So much the better when the show was canceled due to weather!  Elon didn't really understand why we couldn't see the pirates I had been dangling over his head like a carrot everytime I needed him to do something/not do something.  (Did I ever mention that I am not above using bribery as a motivator?)  All of this to say that I had a couple of dissappointed little kids.  So what do you do when your plans are spoiled and you have a whole afternoon of vacation time avalable?  Chuck E. Cheese of course!

While downloading a coupon on their website I came across this little gem.  It is a link to downloadable charts such as "Making Your Bed,"  "Potty Training," and "Magical Manners" that can be filled out by mom or dad and exchanged for 10 free tokens!  Awesome!

I've been working with the princess especially on her manners, and for Elon I think we'll do the getting dressed chart.  (He thinks it's the funnest thing to run away or go limp while I'm trying to dress him, grrrr!)  So cool of Chuck E. Cheese to provide our kids with these rewards-- can't wait to get started with the charts!

Those look great. I wonder if they would work on Eddie. lol. Ha I'm sure Eddie wouldn't appreciate my humor. I love all of the ideas you find. It was sure great to have some catch up time with you. I miss you all so much.
Love you
