Sleepy Heads
Wow, it's been really busy around here. Let's see...Friday was the sleepover; we had a blast. We mainly just talked and ate, although we did play a game of Taboo. I think it was just fun to have a night away from the kids and with only my girl friends for company. Dinner's menu was Mimi's Corn Chowder, cucumber sandwiches spread with chive and onion cream cheese, vegetable pinwheels, and cran-rasberry sparkling punch to drink. For desert, Marie graciously assisted me by making giant creampuffs which were we split and filled with mudslide icecream, then drizzled a happy amount of hot fudge on top-- mm, mm, good! For snacks we had chocolates, candy, popcorn, deviled eggs, and chips with homemade salsa (the snacks were hardly touched). On Saturday for breakfast, the girls awoke to the scent of hazelnut coffee and warm home made cinnamon rolls that had risen in the oven all night. It was nice to awaken to the pleasant greeting of fresh rolls and coffee since we were all exhausted! If you have never hosted a slumber party-- give it a try, it's a lot of fun!
